Every correction and clarification this outlet has issued, newest first. This list is never pruned, and it is supposed to get longer.
This is the register kept under the corrections policy. Each entry names the piece, the date it published, what was wrong, what is right, how the error was found, and the date the fix went up. The same note also sits on the corrected article itself, at the top when the correction changes the meaning of the story and at the bottom when it does not. This page exists so all of them can be read in one place.
What is listed here
Corrections, clarifications, and updates, as the policy defines them. A correction fixes a factual error: a wrong name, number, date, quote, vote count, statute citation, job title, or dollar figure, or a characterization a reader would have taken as fact. A clarification sharpens language that was accurate but could be misread. An update adds a development to a story that was correct when published. Typos, grammar, formatting, broken links, and layout fixes are not listed, because fixing them changes nothing a reader relied on.
How entries are written
Newest entries go at the top. A row is never deleted and never edited after it publishes. If a correction turns out to be wrong itself, a new row corrects it and the original row stays where it is. Each row carries the date of the fix, never an earlier one. The original publication date of the article does not change.
