Granite State Report should be usable by everyone. Tell us where it is not.

Granite State Report should be readable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology. This is an ongoing effort rather than a finished box to check, and reader feedback is the fastest way to find what is broken.

The goal

The site works toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as its reference standard. Where the site falls short of that today, the aim is to close the gap over time.

What the site tries to do

Practical steps in that direction include a clear heading structure so screen readers can move through a page, alternative text on meaningful images, color contrast chosen for readability, a layout that can be navigated by keyboard, and body type set at a comfortable size. The house design uses a plain serif and a restrained palette for exactly this reason.

Known limitations

Some third-party content embedded on the site — reader polls, social media embeds, and video — is controlled by outside services and may not fully meet the same standard. Older archived articles may also lag behind current practice. These are known gaps, and reports about them are welcome.
