Granite State Report is independent New Hampshire journalism: public records, state institutions, and the people who run them. It is written in Northfield and it runs on documents.

What the subscription opens
The reporting is free, there is no paywall on it, and there will not be one. What a subscription opens is the one thing this newsroom built rather than obtained: the Granite State Record Room, a catalog of every document GSR holds, with the source and the rights holder named on each entry.
Every record that catalog lists sits at a public address on this site. Nobody needs a subscription to read one. The subscription opens the list.
What it costs
Nothing. There is no paid tier of the journalism and no subscriber-only reporting. If you want to pay for this work anyway, the support page explains how, and you can sponsor a records request if you would rather fund a specific piece of digging.
